BALOGUN JORJOR INITIATIVE TO BEGIN SPORTS FESTIVAL WITH AWARD CONFERMENT ON HIGH CHIEF MUNIRU ADENIYI ADISA (MAYEGUN OF IWOLAND), CHIEF SEFIU ADEBAYO MUFUTAU (CCT CHAIRMAN), AND OTHER DIGNITARIES


The Balogun Jorjor Initiative, a leadership and community development organization in Iwo, is set to kickstart the most anticipated Sports Festival in Osun State.

The organization, which traditionally is known for holding a Football Competition, has announced to change the initiative this year by upgrading the competition to a sports festival with additional sports activities, including Table Tennis, Boxing, and Indoor Games.
The festival will begin with a marathon race on Thursday, 19th December 2024. During this event, three runner-ups will be receiving cash prizes of #100,000, #75,000, and #50,000, respectively. Additionally, awards will be conferred to recognize and appreciate the remarkable contributions of some dignitaries in Iwoland.

Among those to be honoured are Chief Sefiu Adebayo Mufutau (Chairman, Crown Charity Trust) to receive the Community Development Award. This award is a testament to his exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and remarkable contributions to the development of Iwoland through his work with the Crown Charity Trust, promoting community well-being, fostering unity, and uplifting the lives of countless individuals in the society, which has not gone unnoticed.

Also, High Chief Muniru Adeniyi Adisa (Mayegun of Iwoland) to receive the Hall of Fame Award, during the Marathon Race, marking the maiden Iwoland Sports Festival. This honour is in recognition of his unwavering commitment to community service and the development of Iwoland, his dedication in renovating and resuscitating the Baptist Day School, Ikire-Ile Stadium which has not only revitalized a vital recreational space but also symbolized the spirit of unity and progress, and his remarkable support for community development in Iwoland.

Other award recipients include:

- Alhaji Sikiru Adeeso (Chairman, Iwoland Football Association), who will receive the Award of Recognition for Outstanding Leadership and Support.

- Mr Azeez Mutolib Gambia (Chairman, Nigeria Referees Football Association), who will be honoured with the Award of Excellence in Recognition of Excellence in Sports Association.

- Alhaji Oladele Shittu (Chairman, Nigeria Coaches Football Council, Ayiwola Chapter), who will receive the Award of Distinction for Distinguished Service to Grassroots Sports.

This conferment and recognition are a testament to their exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and remarkable contributions to the development of Iwoland through their work. Their work has consistently promoted community well-being, fostering unity, and uplifting the lives of countless individuals in our society through sports activities.

This conferment of Awards and Sports Festival underscores the mantras of the Balogun Jorjor Initiative to recognize and celebrate outstanding leadership performance, invest and showcase grassroots talent, and provide a platform for nurturing and showcasing exceptional skills among the youth.
