The Federation of Iwoland Students Union (FILSU), National Headquarters, has extended warm birthday felicitations to Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Spokesperson to the Governor of Osun State, as he marks his birthday on February 2nd.
In a goodwill message released by the Union, FILSU described Mallam Rasheed as a seasoned public communicator and a consistent supporter of student development, whose contributions to governance and public engagement in Osun State have remained impactful over the years.
The message, signed by the FILSU ’26 Global President, Comrade Ibrahim Adijat Morayo, acknowledged Mallam Rasheed’s role in strengthening government–citizen communication while also highlighting his longstanding relationship with the Union.
According to the President, Mallam Rasheed has remained a staunch supporter of the Union, having played key advisory, financial, and supportive roles that aided the success of past administrations. She further disclosed that he has actively supported its ongoing Free JAMB initiative, facilitating the procurement of approximately 15 per cent of the free JAMB forms distributed to candidates, a move aimed at easing financial pressure on the Union and improving access to tertiary education for Iwoland students.
In addition, FILSU noted that Mallam Rasheed has pledged continued support toward the proposed renovation of the Union’s facilities, describing the commitment as part of his broader interest in strengthening institutional structures that serve young people.
Beyond student-related interventions, the President, Comr. Ibrahim Adijat Morayo also commended Mallam Rasheed’s contributions to community development within Iwo Local Government Area and its environs. According to the statement, he has facilitated several development projects across the area, including improvements in healthcare delivery, road infrastructure, and other community-based initiatives.
The Union stated that the birthday message reflects its tradition of recognising individuals whose leadership, service, and interventions positively impact both students and the wider society.
