BALOGUN JORJOR KICKSTART SPORTS FESTIVAL WITH MARATHON; FOSTER RESILIENCE IN YOUTH ENHANCING ATTITUDE TOWARDS COMMUNITY BUILDING

Fostering resilience towards community service and enhancing unity in Ayedire/Iwo/Olaoluwa Federal Constituency, the Balogun Jorjor Initiative under the principal of Hon. Abeeb Muyiwa Abdulameed (BALOGUN JORJOR) has kick-started a sports festival on Thursday, December 19, 2024, with a marathon race covering, 5km distance.

The initiative was said to boast interrelationship and the unity coexisting within the Federal Constituency, having participants across the three local government areas in the constituency signalling inclusiveness.

The sports festival, which is the maiden edition in Iwoland, will be featuring other activities too, including Boxing, Table Tennis, and Football Competitions. 

Not only showcasing the talents of athletes, the Balogun Jorjor Initiative also honoured key individuals and organizations who have contributed to the initiative and Iwoland.

In celebration of 4 years of an outstanding partnership, an Award of Recognition for Outstanding Leadership and Support, an Award of Excellence in Recognition of Excellence in Sports Leadership, and an Award of Distinction in Recognition of Distinguish Service to Grassroots Sports were conferred on Alh. Sikiru Adeeso (Chairman of Iwoland Football Association), Mr. Azeez Mutolib Gambia (Chairman of Nigerian Referees Football Association), and Alh. Oladele Shittu (Chairman of Nigerian Coaches Football Council, Ayiwola Chapter) respectively.

Not limited to that, High Chief Muniru Adeniyi Adisa (the Mayegun of Iwoland) was conferred with the Hall of Fame Award and Chief Sefiu Adebayo Mufutau (Chairman of Crown Charity Trust) was conferred with the Community Development Award, which was received by High Chief Kunle Alabi.

A total number of 10 participants across Ayedire-Iwo-Olaoluwa Federal Constituency from which three winners were awarded cash price whereas the rest received recognition.

Beyond just a show of sportsmanship, the Balogun Jorjor Initiative aimed to use the sports festival to celebrate long-term partnerships and commitment, and also to foster unity in the land. 

The principal, Hon. Abeeb Muyiwa Abdulameed (BALOGUN JORJOR), in appreciation, took to his Facebook account, reporting that "no casualties were reported during the marathon events." He also appreciates the security men, NPF, Civil Defense, FRSC, Nigeria Cadet Corps, and the Tawunu'nu Corps, for their support in maintaining orderliness throughout the opening ceremony.

NAOSS NHQ ROUNDS UP SKILL ACQUISITION; RECORDED OVER 150 STUDENTS EMPOWERED ACROSS OSUN WEST SENATORIAL DISTRICT

The Skills Acquisition organized by the National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS) NHQ and facilitated by Vice President II, Comrade Idrees Mubarak AlMogaji (Mubby Nation), has completed with accumulated numbers of participants ranging to 150 benefiting from the initiative.


The acquisition, which took across the three Federal Constituencies in Osun West Senatorial District, was aimed to empower students in hands-on training involving Liquid Soap Making, Izal Production, and Air Freshener.

 

The first phase of the initiative took place at the FELSU National Secretariat on 30th Nov. 2024 and had participants across Ede/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency. 

The second phase of the program was also held at Ikoyi Hall on the 7th of December, 2023 for participants across the Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency.

The third phase, which was also the grand finale of the empowerment program, also took place at the Iwo LGA NULGE Hall on Dec. 14, 2024, having participants across Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-oluwa Federal Constituency.

The NAOSS Vice President II, who's also the Chairman of Osun West Indigenous Students, Comrade Idrees Mubarak AlMogaji (Mubby Nation), confirmed that about 150 students benefited from the just concluded initiative, with most of the participants showing eagerness to venture into putting the knowledge they have accumulated into practice.

In discussion with our correspondent, Comrade AlMogaji showed his gratitude to the Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District, Akogun Lere Oyewumi, for his financial support in sponsoring the program and also appreciated Hon. Dr Moshood Kamal Okunola for his kind gesture and rendering support during the program.

Comrade AlMogaji also acknowledged the support of the NAOSS National President, Comrade Akinnibi Mifatau, the Secretary, Comrade Quadril Olayiwola (VanAbility), and league of leaders in the senatorial district who rendered support during the planning of the initiative; Ldr. Fatai Agoro, Hon. Elisha Minister (Honorable Representing Ayedire at OSHA), Com. Seun, Com Oyegoke Akintayo (Teewhy), Com Olayanju Kolapo (Africa), and Com Animasahun Adekunle (Efficiency)

He also appreciated all indigenous presidents in Osun West for their support and cooperation during the program and also appraised and appreciated Comr. Bello Hammed A. (BEENCASH), Comr. Babalola Ademola S. (Heritage), and Comr. Keefa Abeeb (Salesman) for their support during the planning and all through the program.

He concluded his words by saying this initiative was aimed to be more effective than this, but the lack of funding limited the scope and impact, he therefore called on political officeholders and people in the community to invest and partner with student associations to finance and increase the scope and frame of the initiative beyond Osun West Senatorial District.

BALOGUN JORJOR INITIATIVE TO BEGIN SPORTS FESTIVAL WITH AWARD CONFERMENT ON HIGH CHIEF MUNIRU ADENIYI ADISA (MAYEGUN OF IWOLAND), CHIEF SEFIU ADEBAYO MUFUTAU (CCT CHAIRMAN), AND OTHER DIGNITARIES


The Balogun Jorjor Initiative, a leadership and community development organization in Iwo, is set to kickstart the most anticipated Sports Festival in Osun State.

The organization, which traditionally is known for holding a Football Competition, has announced to change the initiative this year by upgrading the competition to a sports festival with additional sports activities, including Table Tennis, Boxing, and Indoor Games.
The festival will begin with a marathon race on Thursday, 19th December 2024. During this event, three runner-ups will be receiving cash prizes of #100,000, #75,000, and #50,000, respectively. Additionally, awards will be conferred to recognize and appreciate the remarkable contributions of some dignitaries in Iwoland.

Among those to be honoured are Chief Sefiu Adebayo Mufutau (Chairman, Crown Charity Trust) to receive the Community Development Award. This award is a testament to his exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and remarkable contributions to the development of Iwoland through his work with the Crown Charity Trust, promoting community well-being, fostering unity, and uplifting the lives of countless individuals in the society, which has not gone unnoticed.

A MAN OF MANY DEVELOPMENTAL FACET; Heritage Celebrate Becool On The Conferment of Osun Youth Ambassador Award of Excellence



Indeed, "you can't follow a giant and end up being a dwarf." This phrase perfectly captures the journey of greatness and the spirit of social impact I have inherited through the exceptional leadership and mentorship of my AbdulGhaniyy Ridwan Opeyemi, fondly known as Master Becool.

 BECOOL, the founder of CoolContents, a Technical Writing and Research Institution is fondly known for his high intellectualism, a shining example of academic prowess with profound dedication to community impact and professional leadership.


My engagement with Becool began in mid-2018, throughout which I've enjoyed his unwavering dedication and profound exceptional leadership and professional impact and guidance.

There's no way anybody will author my story without acknowledging the impact Becool took in harnessing my leadership and literal prowess; not only me but many others who are undeniable products of his mentorship and leadership influence.

Far beyond academics, Becool is very sourced in diplomacy and social impact, a staunch advocate of SDGs 3 (good health and well-being), 4 (quality education), and goal 16 (peace, justice, and strong institution) among many other social contributions with great accolades, he possesses a strong portfolio in social and leadership service with leaps and track records of achievement following.

NAOSS NHQ KICK OFF SKILL ACQUISITION EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM FOR OSUN WEST STUDENTS

The National Association of Osun State Students, National Headquarters (NAOSS NHQ), has embarked on a skills acquisition initiative to empower students across the Osun West Senatorial District.


This program, proposed and led by the Office of Vice President II, Comr. Idrees Mubarak AlMogaji (Mubby Nation), also the Chairman of Osun West Indigenous Students, began on November 30, 2024, and is set to conclude with a grand finale on December 14, 2024. The program spans all ten local government areas in Osun West Senatorial District, providing hands-on training in Liquid Soap Production, Izal Production, and Air Freshener Production.

The training sessions kicked off on November 30, 2024, at the FELSU (EDE) National Secretariat in Ede/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency. See additional pictures and videos via

The grand finale is slated for December 14, 2024, at the Iwo LGA NULGE Hall for participants from Iwo/Olaoluwa/Ayedire Federal Constituency.

To encourage and recognize the efforts of the participants, certificates of completion were presented to all attendees who successfully participated in the training sessions, and souvenirs were distributed among them all.

However, it is important to note that this initiative has so far been executed without any financial support. We, therefore, appeal to all well-meaning individuals, organizations, government officials, and community leaders to support sustaining and expanding this impactful program, which is designed to empower the youth, foster self-reliance, and promote entrepreneurial growth in Osun State.
