OSUN STATE TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM MANAGEMENT (RIDER'S PARK) ZONAL CHAIRMAN, ALH. COMR. MURI ADEBAYO SENDS A STRONG MESSAGE TO EX CHAIRMEN CAUSING DISTURBANCES

Our attention has been drawn to some sects who are parading themselves and causing diverse havoc and disturbances all in the name of making baseless protest across the town.

It is important to note that these self-acclaimed fellows are past leaders of some of our branches who are full of greed and wish everything always to be according to their conviction. The reports we have gathered so far of their leadership while serving are not worthy of reference, lacking contentment, and their behavior is distinguished with the behavior of troubles and havoc in the town.

The Osun State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Gov. Isiaka Ademola Jackson Adeleke in his quest to ensure peace and a unified atmosphere is sustained across the state has merged all unions of Bike transporters to a unique recognized association which is "OSUN STATE TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM MANAGEMENT" which Iwo, Ayedire, and Olaoluwa Zone is under the leadership of Alhaji (Comr.) Muri ADEBAYO who is the recognized Zonal Chairman coordinating the affairs of the bikemen across the three local government areas.

Recognized Uniform for all union member

The three men who were reportedly causing havoc and disturbing the peace of the town were Ex-Chairmen of Bebeto, Morose, and No-Case Units respectively. These three men who lacked basic rudiments of leadership nor had any glimpse of respect for themselves were going about telling people not to collect tickets, preaching sedition, and tearing the uniform ordered by the state government from off our members.

The leadership of the Union and its members will no longer be standing at bay allowing some unguarded fellow to cause a nuisance to tarnish the image of the association, We remain united and abided by the directive of the state government. Anyone found still constituting this public nuisance or attacking any of our members will be found guilty and charged with the law respectively.

Zonal Unity Meeting Held on Friday Aug 25, 2023.

It is important to state categorically that the only recognized Chairman in Iwo, Ayedire, and Olaoluwa is Alhaji (Comr.) Muri Adebayo is therefore by the virtues of this position responsible for selling the uniform for all the bikemen as made available at the Zonal Chairman Office, and also for collection of Tickets which is an Internal Revenue for the State Government.

Once again, we are undivided, and frown against any untoward attitudes to the directives of the state government or peaceful cohabitation of the People of Iwoland and activities of our members, any reoccurrences of which we will not be taking for granted.

The Impact of Teachers' Attitude on Students' Interest in Mathematics

Mathematics is a fundamental subject that plays a crucial role in the education and development of students. In Nigeria, many students find themselves struggling with maths, some develop hatred for the teacher handling maths , for others, they don't seem to understand anything at all in the subject and, consequently, develop a disinterest in the subject. One will then query why this is thus.

One significant factor that influences this trend is the attitude of teachers towards mathematics.

In this article, I will explain how teachers' attitudes can shape students' interest in math and offer insights into fostering a positive learning environment to promote greater engagement with the subject. (I am confident saying it because I am a teacher too)

1. The Influence of Teacher's Perception: Teachers' perceptions of mathematics can significantly impact their teaching methods and interactions with students. If teachers themselves hold negative attitudes towards the subject, it can be passed on to their students. They may approach teaching math with less enthusiasm, use outdated methods, or unintentionally emphasize the subject's difficulty, making students more apprehensive and unnecessarily scared.

2. The Power of Role Modeling: Teachers serve as role models for their students, and their attitude towards math can influence how students perceive the subject. When teachers demonstrate a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and confidence in teaching math, students are more likely to view it as an exciting and manageable subject. For instance , while in school, we had this maths teacher, Mr Talata, he was a bully coupled with the fact that he didn't seem to master his subject. His attitudes made me despised maths and till date ,I know next to nothing in mathematics ( not because I was a dull student). A teacher's negative attitude can instill fear and disinterest in the subject, leading students to avoid math-related activities altogether.

3. The Importance of Encouragement: Teachers' encouragement is vital in fostering a growth mindset among students, particularly in a challenging subject like mathematics. When teachers provide positive reinforcement, acknowledge efforts, and celebrate small achievements, students feel more motivated and confident in their abilities to tackle mathematical problems. This positive reinforcement helps create a safe and supportive environment, reducing students' fear of making mistakes.

4. Adapting Teaching Strategies: Teachers should make use of a variety of teaching strategies to cater to students' diverse learning styles and abilities. Engaging, interactive, and practical teaching methods can make math more enjoyable and relevant for students. Making use of real-life examples and applications can help students see the value of mathematics beyond the classroom, thereby increasing their interest in the subject.

5. Addressing Math Anxiety: Many students in Nigeria develop math anxiety, a condition orchestrated by fear and stress associated with math-related tasks. Teachers play a critical role in recognizing and addressing math anxiety in their classrooms. By providing additional support, offering one-on-one assistance, and creating a non-judgmental atmosphere, teachers can help alleviate students' anxiety and foster a positive attitude towards mathematics.

In conclusion, teachers instead of instilling false fears and threats in the minds of the students about mathematics, should encourage and motivate them to embrace the subject with a positive and an open mind to get the best from it. Teachers attitudes can either make or mar students performance in mathematics.

AMIDST ECONOMIC HARDSHIP, BALOGUN JORJOR PREACHES PERSEVERANCE AS NEW MONTH MESSAGE, UNVEIL PLANS TO HOST FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT IN OSUN STATE.

Following the subsidy removal which led to an increase in prices and resulting therein to economic hardship, it is expedient to at this point preaches perseverance as the current state of our nation is as a woman going through the pain and agony of birth, but in few moments, all her pains will vanish and gladness shall fill his mouth.

With this I welcome you all to this new month of AUGUST, we all are so concerned with the state of our country, but I am preaching in the same vein to believe in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu most especially for his effort in curbing the negative effect of the subsidy removal on the wellbeing of the people.

We all have come this far, this current state of ours cannot be compared to the stringent and unlenient economic phase we have passed through, especially as the outcome of the Naira crunch earlier this year, however, we came out strong, same manner this current phase of transition that our nation is passing through will, in turn, becomes a great message to speak and enjoy in few days.

Be persevering, and patient, and await a new Nigeria emerging as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working effortlessly and we believe in him to bring a dispose to the current stressing stage we are passing through.

"In the multitude of counsel there's strength," the nomination of reputable men endowed with a wealth of experience and intellectual development ability as Ministers who will be working with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a symptom of working administration and a sign to put legitimate and reputable hands in place, as this will indeed aid the transformation stage we all have been waiting for.

As a result of my end of contributions most especially to the development of Iwo and Osun State at large, I'm glad to inform you all that we will be launching the second phase of the "BALOGUN JORJOR FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT" which aims to empower youth across Osun State through sports, most especially, football.

"Opportunity abounds in time and men are carriers of same," I hope that this competition will not just unite the people of Osun State together but also serve as an avenue to showcase the resources we have within Osun State to the diaspora.

On this, as we began the new month of August, I beseech you with great enthusiasm, this new month is endowed already with great blessings from Almighty God, and we will surely strike great impact therein. Happy New Month.

God Bless Iwoland

God Bless Osun State
