  Solidarity Greetings to all FUTMITES.

The Students' Union Executives led by Comr. BUSARI Ibrahim Olamide (Prof Coded), join the Christian FUTMITES in gratitude for Christ’s sacrifice and the joyful renewal it brings to all God’s children this Easter season.

Easter, the Celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, days after he was betrayed and Crucified.

We implore all our Christian brethren to live in the way of Jesus Christ and abide by his Teachings.

As we celebrate today, may the significance of Christs resurrection be made feasible in our lives.

GIDANKWANO HOUSE RENT, INSECURITY, AND TRANSFORMER SAGA

 Solidarity greetings to all and sundry. It is in our best interest as a union to ensure effective policies and procedures for astute welfarism for our students.

Earlier today April 7th, 2023, a team of SUG Executives alongside members of the Gidankwano House Rent Committee met with the Traditional Ruler of Gidankwano (DAKACHIE).

The meeting was aimed to further dialogue and seek the intervention of the Traditional Ruler over the excruciating hike in the price of house rents across lodges in Gidankwano, extortion of unsuspecting students by unaccredited Housing Agents, security challenges Off-campus as well as fostering swift intervention towards the repair of the broken down Gidankwano Transformer.

The team also expressed their plight over the improper treatment of students by their landlords as some lodges with no proper renovation or maintenance were also rented out at high cost. This promoted the Students’ Union to swing into Action in a bid to tackle this fault.

The DAKACHIE however accented to having received various reports regarding the issue. He further commended the Students’ Union for applying diplomatic standards and assured them of calling for a general meeting with the general landlord association of Gidankwano in a bid to resolve the issue and ensure fairness cum justice for the students.

We are hereby using this medium to advise all our students to desist from paying any form of house rent until a resolution is reached by the DAKACHIE, the Students’ Union, and the Landlords.
