In the early hours of Saturday 8th of March, the Fiyin and Friends Initiative (FAFI), an initiative conceived by Comr. Mofiyinfoluwa John Ogunwale held a business summit and pitching contest at the Federal University of Technology, Minna Niger State.
The initiative, which was aimed at empowering students with thriving business initiatives with appropriate business knowledge and a grant to sponsor their business initiatives, was recorded as a success as participants trailed encouraging reactions appreciating the conveners for such a great initiative on the campus.
Mofiyinfoluwa John, Ogunwale who was popularly known as FIYIN, the convener and principal of Fiyin and Friends Initiative, was a one-time SUG Financial Secretary of the institution; he has facilitated diverse programs, including the SUG Financial Summit in 2024, frontline the Nescafe campus tour, and Partners with multi choice, transportation initiatives, among many others.
The Business Summit has more than 150 attendees across all the faculties in the institution, with the Winner and Second Runner Up in the Pitching Contest from the Engineering Faculty while the First Runner Up is from the School Of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT).
Taking to social media, one of the student stakeholders from the School of Science and Technology Education (SSTE) in Bosso, Comr. Felix Ugorji, kudos to the convener of the program for conceiving such an initiative.
Likewise, one of the beneficiaries of the Start-up grants also took to his social media page, expressing how she gained confidence while making his business presentation after being encouraged by Fiyin. In appreciation, she references to associate herself with the campaign trail of the convener, Mofiyinfoluwa Ogunwale (FIYIN), who rumors have captured that he will be contesting for the SUG President.
As captured by our correspondence, the rumors saying He, Mofiyinfoluwa Ogunwale is engaging in all these activities because he's nurturing an ambition to contest for the SUG President in the forthcoming election of the institution; though he has not issued any official statements debunking or acknowledging his participation in the election as the electioneering period is still far, he rather comment while discussing with our correspondent that the Business Summit and Grants Empowerment was birth out of passion for community service and seeing students with small and medium scale enterprises thriving in their endeavors even while pursuing their academic career.
